“When a mate is worth waiting for…
Fane Baron is a Reign warrior—a sanctioned killer charged with hunting down the rogue vampyre cats of the Sovereign Kind. Haunted by memories of stalking his best friend and afraid the same contagious addiction will consume him, Fane makes a drastic decision; he’ll stop taking blood. He knows the consequences of his decision, the problem is, can he live with himself once he meets her…? Edy Adair is in a predicament of her uncle's making. A few days from her first change to a panther, already dealing with the clawing emotional turmoil of being in heat, she’s headed on a short flight to Arizona with the vampyre cat of her dreams. Only problem, he isn’t the mate chosen for her by her parents. The fact is he killed her cousin!”

Ms Steele’s book takes an interesting twist on the Vampire genre by mixing the Weres with the Vampires to create a new genre unto its own. Fane is a warrior dealing with the guilt of having to hunt down his best friend and Edy is a woman about to come into her own, who is completely drawn to Fane. How can she possibly get over the facts that she is promised to another and that Fane has caused so much emotional turmoil in her family.
I found the background information about the KIND fascinating and it was extremely important to understanding the story. Ms Steele has packed so much information into such a short book that at times the actual story was hindered. This book would have flown literally if it had been given another chapter or two to help build the characters development and budding romance. That being said Ms Steele knows exactly how to write a passionate love story full of heat and fire, with two characters that the reader cares about.
